Dundurn Press has acquired four new titles, three of which continue the company’s commitment to Canadian history. Revisiting "Our Forest Home": The Immigrant Letters of Frances Stewart by Jodi Aoki is a collection of personal writings spanning nearly 75 years, exploring the experience of one of the first pioneer women in the Peterborough, Ontario region. Astonishing General: The Story of Sir Isaac Brock is a title from veteran Dundurn author Wesley B. Turner, and will delve into the life of the Canadian military general who was beloved by his friends and foes alike, and was deemed a hero of the War of 1812 after only 5 months of service. Arctic Obsession: The Lure of the Far North by Alexis S. Troubetzkoy is an historical overview of a geographic area that has mystified explorers for centuries, and continues to attract attention for developing geopolitical and environmental issues today. And finally, Suite Life by Christopher Heard is a close look at hotel culture from a man who has called the famed Royal York hotel his home for years. It will look at those individuals who have chosen to reside in hotels and will be woven with Heard’s interviews with famous hotel patrons including Johnny Depp, Warren Beatty, and James Woods. All four of Dundurn’s newest titles will release in Spring 2011.
